LUX Audience Award: Young Talent Programme
The LUX Audience Award is set to launch its “Young Talent Programme”, an initiative by the European Parliament and Europa Cinemas designed to engage and empower junior film professionals across the EU. This programme aims to leverage the resources of the cinemas they represent to promote and support the LUX Audience Award promotional campaign and the EU values reflected in its nominated films.
In an open selection process, 27 young professionals, one from each EU member state, have been selected to become multipliers for the LUX Audience Award. These junior professionals, all under 30, work in film theatres in various roles such as programmers, marketing and social media managers, or film education officers. They will work to engage cinema audiences at national, regional, and European levels, promoting the LUX Audience Award in collaboration with Europa Cinemas, the LUX Audience Award team, and the Liaison Offices of the European Parliament.
This initiative offers a unique opportunity for professional growth through comprehensive training and networking. The participants will attend a training programme in Strasbourg during the plenary session from September 16-19, where they will become familiar with the LUX Audience Award and its partners. Throughout the annual cycle of the LUX Audience Award, these young talents will receive ongoing training, resources, and logistical support from the LUX Audience Award team and Europa Cinemas.
Key objectives of the Young Talent Programme:
Promote the LUX Audience Award: Increase awareness of the LUX Audience Award and its five nominated European films across the EU.
Engage Young Professionals and their cinemas: Provide opportunities for young film professionals to actively contribute to the promotion of the LUX Audience Award and European values.
Create synergies to strengthen European cinema: Facilitate collaboration between national cinemas, European Parliament Liaison Offices, and local communities to enhance cultural dialogue and understanding.
